Valentine's Day is Coming

Here are some hats I've been working on...don't forget your sweetheart on Valentine's Day!  All hats are available in my etsy shop.

I know this owl beanie isn't very "valentine-ish" but I just love it.  It is shown here with a rounded top, but I can do a square top, and also add earflaps.  The hat is available in any size from newborn to adult, and any color combination.  This particular hat is size 3-12 months.





 

Little girl cloches in hot pink, purple, yellow, and red with multi-colored flowers.  100 percent cotton yarn.  Adorable for Valentine's Day or any day!

More Custom Orders

My sister in law wanted some beanies for a retreat that she was going to for work.  Her team was the "pink team" and she wanted PINK!
I made one that was alternating pink and white stripes, I wasn't really digging it, but I sent a picture over and my sister in law said she wanted "more pink".  So this is what I came up with, and I made 5!!!!

I'm going to make some more for Valentine's Day and list them on my etsy site.  I'm thinking about adding a detachable heart on an alligator clip.

This is a USC Trojans Colors beanie with ties that I made for one of my friends.  She went to USC and wanted the hat to wear to their football games.  It also reminds me of Harry Potter and the Gryffindor colors.  I thought this hat turned out so cute, and I'm definitely loving the ties and the colors.

Crafty Weekend

My good friend Sarah is having a baby next month and her shower was on Saturday.  I already gave her a hat and blanket but this is her first baby so there is still a lot of things she needs.

I decided to make a nursing cover and a car seat tent.  The nursing cover is a total "craft-lift" from my friend Lindsay's blog.  I really liked the colors that Lindsay used.  Sarah is having a boy so I didn't want to make the cover too girly.  I went and picked out the fabric at Joann's and didn't realize until today when I looked at Lindsay's blog that I got pretty much the same fabric.  I think it turned out pretty cute...but as cute as it is, and no matter how much Sarah loved it, I'm pretty sure I am never going to make one again.  This project was the biggest pain in the neck.  With putting in the boning, sewing the straps, pressing every seam, oh my goodness!  Forget it!

I love how this turned out!  I love making the car seat tents.

I lined the inside with black flannel so that the cover could be used as a blanket in a pinch. I also added jumbo rick rac for a little "flair"

After I was finished making these gifts, I had to get back to working on my hats.  I had some orders I needed to finish by Sunday night.

My First Post!

I started a couple of months ago making hats and homemade gifts for my family for Christmas.  I also made a couple of hats for myself and for Savannah.  Whenever we would wear the hats, I would always get compliments and people would ask if I sold the hats.  Well, now, the answer is yes!  Baby Diva/Little Lady Designs is now in business.  I'm working on getting enough inventory to open a shop on etsy and I'm almost there.

I started crocheting about 14 years ago when I was pregnant with my first baby.  I crocheted for a couple of years then never did it again.  I got busy with other crafts.  A sister in law asked for a hat and scarf for Christmas.  I found a scarf but couldn't find a hat I liked in any stores.  I wished I knew how to knit, because it seemed like all the patterns I saw were for knitting.  ONe afternoon I stumbled across a link to an etsy shop, inner hooker, for crochet patterns.  I went to the shop and I was in love with her patterns.  I bought 2 right away and made my first of many trips to Michael's for yarn.  I think I made about 10 hats for Christmas gifts.  I kept two for myself and still get compliments whenever I wear them.  I started thinking about other things that I could make as gifts too.  I found patterns for ear flap hats, cloches, baby hats, and all kinds of fun stuff.  I think I like making hats so much because I can finish one in an evening while I watch TV!

I will be selling skirts and hats for babies, toddlers, and older kids as well as women, and posting my new projects here.  I may also sell receiving blankets, rag quilts, and car seat covers as well.

I will be taking custom orders for each hat or skirt design, as well as receiving blankets and car seat covers I sell.  If you see something you like but don't like the color or fabric, email me and we can figure  something out that you will love!
